Program Guidelines
You have joined a very special group of young women. Our mission is to help you prepare for college and the professional world. The following policies will help guarantee a successful year.
Punctuality
- Meetings typically begin at 5:00 pm, unless stated otherwise in the program
- Arrive by 4:45 pm so that you can retrieve your nametag and mingle with members, Board Moms, and the Governing Board
Absences/Tardies
- Attendance is required at all meetings
- Call, text, or email your Color Mom in advance if you are unable to attend a meeting
- Absences/tardies are compiled during the program year
- Tardy is defined as: arriving one minute or later than the arrival time
- Absent is defined as: arriving more than 15 minutes tardy, or not at all
- Four tardies equal one absence
- In the event of three absences, a letter will be sent to the member and her parents
- In the event of four absences, the Governing Board reserves the right to request a member’s resignation from the program
Attire
- SHC Regular
- Skirt/blouse or dress, pantyhose/tights and dress shoes
- Strapless, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs, exposed cleavage, tunic tops, leggings and flip flops are not permitted
- Bra straps and tattoos must be completely covered
- Uniforms of any kind are not permitted
- Skirts must be longer than the tip of your middle finger, when your arms are straight down at your sides
- Pantyhose must be without holes or runs; purchase 3-5 pair for an adequate supply
- Improper SHC attire will result in a violation slip
- In the event of two violations, members will be sent home, which will count as one absence
- SHC Snappy Casual
- Informal yet stylish, between a casual and profesional dresscode

Dressier than jeans and a t-shirt, but not as dressy as professional dress

No colored jeans, jeggins, or yoga pants allowed

No shorts or rompers

Leggings are appropriate with a longer tunic top

Dress pants and blouses are appropriate

- SHC Casual
- Jeans, shorts (no short shorts), slacks and flip flops
- SHC Semi Formal
- Dressy dress or skirt, pantyhose/tights, dress shoes
Do’s
- Thank you notes are written to families who open their homes for our special events and to speakers who participate in the program
- Scottsdale Honors Cotillion is an opportunity to extend yourself beyond your immediate group of friends
- Introduce yourself to the Color Moms, Governing Board members and make new friends
- Scottsdale Honors Cotillion is what you make of it
Don’ts
- Gum, food, and drinks are not permitted during meetings/events
